Itinerary
- Day 1 : DEPART FOR SPAIN
- Fly through the night to Madrid, Spain.
- Day 2 : MADRID
- Your Prométour Tour Director will greet you at the airport.
- Transfer to your centrally located hotel and have some time to freshen-up and to exchange some money.
- Visit the Palacio Real, known as the Palacio de Oriente.
- Explore the Puerta del Sol district including Plaza Mayor and Spain’s kilometer zero.
- Dinner with your Prométour Director.
- Day 3 : MADRID
- After breakfast, visit the Museo del Prado, one of the top three museums in the world.
- Take a walk through Parque del Retiro, see the Palacio de Cristal.
- Spend the morning mingling with “madrileños” and tourists alike at the Rastro Flea Market.
- Enjoy a Spanish treat, churros con chocolate. (Included)
- See the museum of Spain's largest Bullring, Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas.
- Dinner with your Prométour Director.
- Day 4 : DAY TRIP TO TOLEDO
- Depart for Toledo by bus after breakfast.
- Stop at a traditional Sword Workshop and learn how metal is forged into elaborate weaponry.
- Discover the history of Toledo’s fortified walls on a walking tour with a local guide.
- Enter the spectacular Cathedral of Toledo.
- Stop at a local Pasteleria to taste the locally made marzipan pastries.
- Have some time to explore on your own before returning to Madrid.
- Return to Madrid for a tapas dinner in a typical bodega.
- Day 5 : EL ESCORIAL / BARCELONA
- After breakfast, board your bus and depart for Real Monasterio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial, resting-place of Spain’s Royal dynasties.
- Visit the impressive Panteon de los Reyes, the Panteon de los Infantes and the lavish Library.
- On your way back to Madrid, stop at El Valle de los Caídos.
- Board the AVE to Barcelona.
- Transfer to your hotel for check-in.
- Dinner with your Prométour Director.
- Day 6 : BARCELONA
- After breakfast, head for Las Ramblas, the shortest (or longest) mile you will ever walk.
- See the Church of Betlem, the cloister of the Church of Santa Monica and the Placa Reial.
- Stop at the Palau Güell, built in 1886-89 and already declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site .
- Later, visit La Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) Cathedral. This incredible work of art was started in 1883 and is still being built today!
- Explore the Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter)
- Try Spanish paella for dinner.
- Day 7 : BARCELONA
- For a taste of local life head to the Boqueria, the city's main food market.
- Take a guided tour of the Museu del Futbol at Europe’s largest football stadium, Camp Nou.
- Take the metro to Parc Güell, an Art Nouveau extravaganza.
- Dinner with your Prométour Tour Director.
- After dinner enjoy an authentic flamenco show for your last night in Spain.
- Day 8 : RETURN FLIGHT
- Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director.
- Transfer to the airport & board your flight home.
