Itinerary

  • Day 1 : USA / MADRID
    • Fly through the night to Spain
  • Day 2 : MADRID / TOLEDO
    • Welcome to Madrid, your bilingual Prométour Tour Director will meet you at the airport.
    • Walk on the Plaza Mayor and visit the Puerta del Sol district.
    • This morning taste a Spanish treat; Churros con Chocolate at the Churreria San Gines.
    • After this short visit, depart by bus to Toledo, fascinating monumental city that was the Spain’s medieval capital, center of the Visigoth Kingdom, Imperial capital and residence of Moors, Jews and Christians.
    • Check into your centrally located hotel in Toledo.
    • Continue the day with a visit to a traditional sword workshop where you will learn how the metal is forged into elaborate weaponry. At the end of your visit you will have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs. (Subject to availability)
    • Have dinner at Plaza de Zocodover with your group and Prométour Tour Director.
  • Day 3 : TOLEDO
    • After breakfast, take a guided walking tour of the city and discover the history behind Toledo’s fortified walls. While on this tour, pay special attention to la Vieja de Bisagra, an impressive Moorish gate built more than a thousand years ago!
    • Take a local guided tour of the area.
    • Visit the church of Santo Tomé to admire one of El Greco’s definite masterpieces: El entierro del Conde de Orgaz.
    • Then stop at the Pasteleria Santo Tomé to taste the marzipan pastries made from a recipe dating back to the 13th Century.
    • Next visit the San Juan monastery and walk on the San Martin Bridge.
    • Lastly visit the Santa María la Blanca and learn about how this building went from being a synagogue to a Christian temple and then a penitentiary.
    • Enjoy the rest of the day in the Ciudad de las tres culturas.
    • Dinner and overnight in Toledo.
  • Day 4 : TOLEDO / MADRID
    • After breakfast, visit the Synagoga de Transito and the Museo Sefardi.
    • Transfer back into Madrid by bus and check into your centrally located hotel.
    • Stop at Plaza de Espana to pay tribute to Don Quijote and Sancho Panza.
    • Follow your Prométour Tour Director to nearby Gran Via, the liveliest avenue of the capital.
    • Discover Spain’s kilometer zero.
    • Tonight, have paella for dinner!
    • Overnight in Madrid
  • Day 5 : MADRID
    • After breakfast, leave your hotel for a day of art exploration.
    • Stop by Plaza de Cibeles with its noble fountain.
    • Enjoy a local guided visit of the Prado Museum. See Las Meninas, by Velazquez (considered by many as the greatest painting ever made), and masterpieces by the likes of Goya, Brueghel and El Greco.
    • Head for the Parque del Retiro. Relax near the magnificent pond and admire the Crystal Palace.
    • Dinner in a typical Spanish restaurant and enjoy a Flamenco night Al Andaluz!
    • Overnight in Madrid
  • Day 6 : CUENCA
    • Today, after breakfast, see the highlights of Cuenca on a day trip by bus.
    • See its “Hanging houses” and walk on its suspended bridge.
    • Visit the city, walk on its Plaza Mayor, and enter its Cathedral!
    • Visit the Modern Art Museum and have a guided tour.
    • On the way back if time permits, stop in the Ciudad Encantada, a stony labyrinth of crags and caves and lakes and waterfalls, which resembles a ruined city.
    • Reenter Madrid for dinner and overnight accommodations.
  • Day 7 : LA GRANJA & SEGOVIA
    • After an early breakfast, depart on a day trip to Segovia!
    • First, visit the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso, built by the Bourbons who wanted a “Versailles styled” Royal Residence in Spain.
    • Later, take a local guided tour of the city where you will walk along the Acueducto Romano, and see other remarkable buildings such as the Alcázar and the Cathedral.
    • Visit the most emblematic fortresses in Spain, the Alcázar, a Moorish fortress that became royal residency in the 13th Century and then climb to the top of the Torre de Juan II to admire the golden fields.
    • Return to Madrid for dinner and night accommodations.
  • Day 8 : AVILA & EL ESCORIAL
    • After breakfast, take the train to the picturesque city of Avila, whose walls make it look like a postcard from the Middle Ages.
    • Stop at Los Cuatro Postes, for a few minutes to take some pictures.
    • On a walking tour of this walled town, see the battlement apse of the Cathedral, which forms the most impressive part of the walls. Have a view of the city and its surroundings from the top of the walls.
    • Visit the Cathedral, the oldest in Spain built mainly during the 13th century, almost a military fortress. See the lifelike statue of El Tostado, a former bishop.
    • Enter the Cathedral Museum with collections of silver and gold pieces and paintings.
    • On the way back to Madrid, stop at the grandiose Real Monasterio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial, resting-place of Spain’s Royal dynasties and listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Visit the impressive Panteon de los Reyes, the Panteon de los Infantes and the lavish Library filled with rare manuscripts dating from the 9th century on. See the Bourbon Palace and admire paintings by El Greco and Goya, Titian and Tintoretto.
    • Dinner and overnight in Madrid.
  • Day 9 : WARNER BROTHERS THEME PARK
    • This morning after breakfast depart for the Warner Brothers Park where you will spend the whole day!
    • Have some fun and time to relax before returning home.
    • Return to Madrid for dinner and night accommodations.
  • Day 10 : RETURN HOME FROM SPAIN
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director
    • Transfer to the airport & board your flight home.
