Itinerary
- Day 1 : DEPART FOR SPAIN
- Fly through the night to Madrid, Spain.
- Day 2 : MADRID
- Welcome to Madrid, your bilingual Prométour Tour Director will meet you at the airport.
- Transfer by private motor coach and check into your centrally located hotel.
- Later this afternoon take a guided tour of the Museo del Prado, one of the top three museums in the world and admire its collection of Spanish paintings. See masterpieces by Goya and Velazquez, including Las Meninas.
- Get to know your Prométour Tour Director over dinner.
- Day 3 : MADRID
- This morning after breakfast, take a guided tour of the Reina Sofia Gallery featuring an outstanding exhibit of modern and contemporary art, including Picasso's famous anti-war painting, Guernica.
- Enjoy some time at leisure in one of Madrid’s most beautiful parks: El Retiro.
- This afternoon, continue our day of culture and visit the Royal Palace, an immense 18th century palace twice the size of Buckingham Palace and one of the most beautiful in Europe.
- Evening meal and overnight accommodation in Madrid.
- Day 4 : MADRID- TOLEDO- SEVILLA
- Transfer to Toledo, historic capital of Castilla la Mancha.
- Meet you local guide and start your day with a visit to a traditional sword workshop where you will learn how the metal is forged into elaborate weaponry. At the end of your visit, you will have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs.
- Enter Toledo’s monumental Cathedral, the spiritual heart of the Spanish Church.
- Visit the church of Santo Tomé to admire one of El Greco’s masterpieces; The Burial of the Count of Orgaz.
- Return to Madrid for taking the TGV to Sevilla for your evening meal and overnight accommodations.
- Day 5 : SEVILLA
- This morning after breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Seville taking in The Alcazar; a fortress palace built by the Moors.
- Then visit the Cathedral; the largest Gothic building in Europe and the La Giralda; a minaret built in the 12th century and La Plaza de España.
- Take the afternoon at your leisure to relax or explore at your own pace.
- Tonight see the professionals in action! Experience an unforgettable flamenco show over dinner in the area with your group.
- Overnight accommodation in Sevilla.
- Day 6 : SEVILLA – RONDA - NERJA
- This morning after breakfast, board your private motor coach and travel to Ronda, one of Andalucia’s most picturesque towns.
- Meet your local guide and take a tour through this delightful town, see the famous gorge, El Tajo. Enter the bullring, founded in 1785, it is one of the oldest in Spain! Before you leave enter the Bullfighting Museum, and learn the history and importance of this cultural activity in Ronda.
- Before departing to Nerja, have a sight of the Roman ruins of Acinipo.
- Upon arrival in Nerja, check into your centrally located hotel and take the remainder of the day at your leisure.
- Dinner and overnight accommodation in Nerja.
- Day 7 : NERJA
- This morning after breakfast, embark on a canoeing adventure* (approx. 3 hrs) to discover the cliffs and caves of Nerja and Maro. During your trek, you will explore small caves and the natural habitat of sea gulls. Basic techniques of paddling, navigation and security will be explained before you begin.
- Return to the town and take the rest of the afternoon at your leisure on the beaches or at the shops! Don’t forget to take a stroll through the town and discover El Balcón de Europa, a superb lookout point above the sea.
- Evening meal and overnight accommodation in Nerja.
- This activity is subject to weather conditions and maybe changed for alternative activities in the event that bad weather prevents them from taking place.
- Day 8 : NERJA - GRANADA
- This morning after breakfast, board your private motor coach and travel to the jewel of Andalucía, Granada.
- Let’s visit the magnificent Alhambra. Enjoy a guided tour through the Alcazaba (the fort), the Generalife (gardens), Charles V’s Palace, and the Nasrid Palaces.
- Enjoy Lunch with your group in a local restaurant.
- This afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace.
- Return to Nerja for evening meal and overnight accommodations.
- Day 9 : NERJA – GIBRALFARO - MALAGA
- This morning after breakfast visit the magnificent Cuevas de Nerja. Discovered by schoolboys hunting for bats in 1959, the collection of caverns was soon recognized as being one of the most important cave systems in the country.
- After that exploration in the depths of the Earth, climb up the hill at Gibralfaro for a visit of the Alcazaba and the castle marvel at the breathtaking view if the city and sea.
- Also have a sight of the Roman Theater that still lies at the foot of the fortress’ walls.
- Tonight, discover the local delicacies of the region and try some Paella at a chringuito restaurant on the beach.
- Overnight accommodation in Malaga.
- Day 10 : RETURN HOME FROM SPAIN
- Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director.
- Transfer to the airport & board your flight home.
