Itinerary

  • Day 1 : DEPART FOR SPAIN
    • Fly through the night to Madrid, Spain.
  • Day 2 : MADRID
    • Welcome to Spain! Your Spanish Prométour Tour Director will be waiting for you at the airport.
    • Transfer to your hotel for the check-in and take time to freshen up before heading out.
    • Enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the top of Faro de Moncloa, a modern telecommunications tower from where you will be able to see Madrid’s skyline, including the nearby sierra.
    • Follow your Tour Director on a walk through Old Madrid and explore the 16th and 17th century narrow streets around the famous Plaza Mayor, said to be “the most elegant square in the continent”.
    • Enjoy a typical dinner with your group.
    • Overnight in Madrid.
  • Day 3 : MADRID
    • After breakfast, enter the Museo del Prado, one of the top three museums in the world and admire its collection of Spanish painting. See masterpieces by Goya and Velazquez, including Las Meninas, considered by some art historians as the greatest canvas ever painted.
    • Visit the Palacio Real. With 3000 rooms, it is twice the size of Buckingham Palace. Admire the magnificent interiors and the ornate furniture.
    • See the Monument to Alfonso XII, in the Parque del Retiro.
    • Enjoy some free time for last-minute purchases in “Madrid de los Austrias” and visit one of the most important Department Stores in Spain “El Corte Inglés”.
    • Evening meal with your group.
    • Overnight in Madrid.
  • Day 4 : DAY TRIP TO SALAMANCA
    • After breakfast, depart for Salamanca where one of the 4 top universities of the middle Ages was founded.
    • Today, discover the Universidad. See its walls recording the names of famous university graduates.
    • Enjoy lunch with your group.
    • Visit the Vieja y Nueva Cathedrals. Compare the 12th and the 16th century architectural styles.
    • In an adjoining cloister, view the works of Salamanca’a greatest native artist, Fernando Gallego.
    • Have dinner upon your return to Madrid (not included).
    • Overnight in Madrid.
  • Day 5 : TOLEDO / CORDOBA
    • After breakfast depart to Toledo, the historic capital of Castilla la Mancha.
    • Enjoy a guided walking tour of the city and discover the history behind Toledo’s fortified walls as well as Santa María la Blanca Cathedral.
    • Enter Toledo’s monumental Cathedral, the spiritual heart of the Spanish Church. Admire its Monstrance, its High Altar Reredos and the Transparente.
    • Have some free time to explore the intricate streets of Toledo. Why not take the time to visit a traditional sword workshop where you will learn how the metal is forged into elaborate weaponry.
    • Transfer towards Cordoba for dinner and night accommodation.
  • Day 6 : CORDOBA / SEVILLA
    • After breakfast, visit the Mezquita, an 8th century Mosque.
    • Later, you will discover the Jewish Quarter and the Synagogue.
    • Transfer to Sevilla right after your visits.
    • Check into your hotel upon arrival.
    • Enjoy a guided tour of Sevilla. You’ll have the opportunity to admire The Alcazar, a fortress palace built by the Moors. Then visit the Cathedral, the largest Gothic building in Europe and then the La Giralda, a minaret built in the 12th century and La Plaza de España.
    • Browse around the Santa Cruz Quarter and Plaza España.
    • Head to dinner with your Tour director.
    • Afterwards, enjoy a live Flamenco show.
    • Overnight in Sevilla.
  • Day 7 : SEVILLA / GRANADA / BARCELONA
    • After an early breakfast, have a little time to browse around the Santa Cruz Quarter and Plaza España.
    • Depart for the enchanting city of Granada.
    • This afternoon, you will visit the magnificent Alhambra. Enjoy a guided tour through the Alcazaba (the fort), the Generalife (gardens), Charles V’s Palace, and the Nasrid Palaces.
    • Head to dinner with your Tour director.
    • Tonight, you depart on an overnight train to Barcelona.
  • Day 8 : BARCELONA
    • Enjoy breakfast after disembarking the train.
    • Visit the Museo Picasso which has one of the most extensive collections of artworks by the 20th century Spanish artist.
    • Take the metro to Parc Güell, an Art Nouveau extravaganza built in the late 1800s and already declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO!
    • Later, head for the Las Ramblas, a pedestrian promenade where you will feel the vibrant atmosphere of Barcelona! It will be the shortest (or longest) mile you will ever walk.
    • See the Church of Betlem and Plaça Reial.
    • Go to the Columbus Lookout for a skyline view of Barcelona.
    • Dine in a typical Catalonian restaurant.
    • Overnight in Barcelona.
  • Day 9 : BARCELONA
    • Visit Gaudi's unfinished Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia.
    • Explore the Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter), with its intricate medieval streets, the original site of the Roman village.
    • For a taste of local life, head to the city's main food market, known locally as the Boqueria.
    • Free time for lunch in the Parc de la Ciutadella. Here you will find; Gaudí's monumental fountain, the city zoo, two natural history museums and Catalunya's legislative assembly, the Parliament.
    • Enjoy a farewell dinner with your group.
    • Overnight in Barcelona.
  • Day 10 : RETURN HOME FROM SPAIN
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director.
    • Transfer to the airport & board your flight home.
