Itinerary

  • Day 1 : FLIGHT TO BELGIUM
    • Fly overnight non-stop to Brussels in Belgium.
  • Day 2 : BRUSSELS
    • Meet your Prométour Tour Director at the airport; they will stay with you for the rest of your journey.
    • Check-in at your centrally-located hotel and freshen up.
    • Enjoy a walking city tour with a licensed guide of Brussels. Brussels is considered the capital of the European Union, discover the Grand Palace, see the jewel of Brussels on the Grand Place and see the famous Manneken Pis.
    • Visit a traditional Belgian chocolaterie.
    • Have your first dinner in Brussels.
    • Enjoy an evening stroll of the Grand Place.
  • Day 3 : BRUGES / PARIS
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director.
    • After breakfast, board your motor coach to Bruges. (Approx. 1hr)
    • Drive through the Flemish countryside to Bruges, a jewel of a city with interlaced canals overhung with humpbacked bridges.
    • While in Bruges see the “Lake of Love” (Minnewater), the Begijnhof convent and the Burg, a magical Medieval square on a walking tour.
    • Have some free time to explore on your own.
    • Continue to Paris (Approx. 3 hrs) and arrive to “La Ville-lumière” for dinner.
  • Day 4 : PARIS
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director.
    • This morning, discover Philippe Auguste’s Musée du Louvre, including the Richelieu Wing and “La Joconde” – (called Mona Lisa in English).
    • Next take a walk through “Le Jardin des Tuileries” and “Place de la Concorde” the largest public square in Paris. Here you will see the Egyptian obelisk offered to Napoleon by the Viceroy of Egypt in 1831.
    • Then stroll along “Les Champs Elysées” to the Arc de Triomphe.
    • Have a pleasant walk through Place du Trocadéro and discover Paris from the third and highest floor of “La Tour Eiffel”, on the Champs-de-Mars.
    • Enjoy a cruise on the Seine River, on the Bâteau-Mouche.
    • After dinner, take in a concert in one of Paris’ churches.
  • Day 5 : PARIS
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director.
    • This morning, walk around l'Ïle-de-la-Cité, the heart of Paris. Visit the Cathédrale of Notre-Dame and climb the 387 steps to see the gargoyles and an amazing view of Paris!
    • Walk from the cathédrale to Sainte Chapelle, built to house the “Crown of Thorns.” It is said that the crown is brought back from the Crusades by the King known to Parisians as St. Louis.
    • After lunch, we’ll have a visit to the beautiful Opera Garnier, site of the famous story, “Le Fantôme de l’Opéra”.
    • End the day in Montmartre, the "Butte", as it is known locally.
    • Discover the Sacré Coeur Basilica and stroll on the little paved alley leading to "La Place du Tertre" where the artists gather.
    • Have dinner at a restaurant in this lively «Quartier» where the charming French movie “Amélie” was filmed.
  • Day 6 : LOIRE VALLEY
    • After breakfast, leave for the beautiful Loire Valley. (Approx. 3hrs)
    • Discover the Loire Valley and its renowned châteaux.
    • Visit the Château de Blois, a brilliant illustration of the evolution of French architecture.
    • Then, stop at the splendid and imposing Château de Chambord, the Loire’s largest castle, with its 440 rooms.
    • Continue on to the Château Chenonceau, “Le Château des Dames”, world-famous for the beauty of its Renaissance architecture.
    • Tonight, spend the night at the Abbey of Fontevraud – Le Prieuré St-Lazare, listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site – a truly mesmerizing experience and enjoy dinner inside the ancient cloister.
  • Day 7 : CHARTRES / PARIS
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director.
    • This morning, depart for Chartres Cathedral. (Approx. 2hrs)
    • Have a tour of this amazing Cathedral by the renowned English art historian, Malcolm Miller.
    • Enjoy some free time to explore the town of Chartres on your own.
    • Continue to Paris (Approx. 1 hr.) and arrive for a cooking class at “Le Cordon Bleu Paris Culinary Arts Institute” to learn more about French cuisine. Attend a cuisine or pastry demonstration given by one of their master chefs who will share some secrets in mastering this fine culinary art of French cuisine.
    • Dinner with your Prométour Tour Director.
  • Day 8 : GENEVA
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director.
    • Today, at the lovely Gare de Lyon, board the TGV, France’s high-speed train, to Geneva in Switzerland.
    • After arriving in Geneva, make your way to “Le Musée International de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant- Rouge”. The Museum chronicles the beginnings of the International Red Cross, the world’s first official “humanitarian organization” and its work to the present day.
    • Afterwards, have a walking tour through the maze of narrow streets in Old Geneva, a town with 2,000 years of history. See St. Peter's Cathedral, where John Calvin preached many a sermon, and the Town Hall.
    • Walk through the Jardin Anglais along Lake Geneva to see the famous Jet d’Eau fountain and the Flower Clock (45 feet in diameter!) a symbol of this Geneva-born invention.
    • Dinner in Geneva.
  • Day 9 : GRUYERES
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director.
    • Board your bus to take a picturesque drive to the little medieval town of Gruyères, nestled in the foothills of the Swiss Alps. (Approx. 1hr30)
    • Learn how Swiss cheeses are made (and taste some!) at a local cheese factory/museum.
    • Continue to Château Chillon, one of Switzerland’s most beautiful castles, as it is built on a rock along the shores of Lake Geneva, an exceptional combination of castle and fortress.
    • Go to the quaint lakeside town of Montreux, site of the famous Montreux Jazz Festival and watch the sun set over Lac Léman (as the Swiss call Lake Geneva) and the Alps.
    • This evening, enjoy a traditional Swiss fondue meal.
  • Day 10 : RETURN FLIGHT FROM SWITZERLAND
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director
    • Transfer to the airport & board your flight home.
