Itinerary

  • DAY 1: TRAVEL TO FRANCE
    • Fly through the night to Paris.
  • DAY 2: PARIS
    • Meet your Prométour Tour Director at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris and transfer to your centrally located hotel for check-in. He/She will remain with your group for the duration of your stay.
    • While in Paris travel as the locals do, by metro!
    • Begin you stay with the discovery of Montmartre. By the end of the 19th century, the area was a mecca for all kind of artists. Stroll in the streets where famous artists lived and feel the atmosphere, like Place du Tertre and the Espace Dali Montmartre, in hommage to his first venue in the city.
    • Visit the Musée de Montmartre, featuring a collection that traces Montmartre's rich cultural history.
    • Dinner on Place du Tertre.
    • After dinner, see the Sacré Coeur Basilica.
  • DAY 3: PARIS
    • Your discovery of art in Paris begins with the Louvre, one of the largest, oldest, most important museums in the world. There, you will find masterpieces from the ancient time up to 19th Century. A guided tour will examine major pieces, then; have some time on your own to discover this huge museum.
    • Visit the Musée Marmottan-Claude Monet, where Monet lovers can trace the evolution of the great man's work in a single museum.
    • From there, make your way to Champ de Mars, passing through the neighbourhood of Passy. Home to Benjamin Franklin during the nine years that he lived in France.
    • Climb to the third floor of the Eiffel Tower.
    • Dinner in the area before you board a “bateau mouche” to see Paris by night.
  • DAY 4: FULL DAY EXCURSION TO VERSAILLES AND GIVERNY
    • After an early breakfast, depart to the Chateau de Versailles, the extravagant Palace built for the Sun King. The palace here out dazzled every other kingly residence in Europe. You will visit the opulent Grand Apartments; view the Opera and Royal Bedroom. Spend some time exploring the beautifully landscaped gardens.
    • Head to the city of Giverny best known as the location of Claude Monet's garden and home, where he lived from 1883 until his death in 1926. His garden is the inspiration for some of his most famous paintings, such as his water lily and Japanese bridge paintings.
    • Board your bus back to Paris for dinner and night accommodation.
  • DAY 5: PARIS
    • Visit the Orsay museum, created in an old rail station. The Orsay boasts an astounding collection devoted to the watershed years 1848 to 1914. See The Impressionists and post-Impressionists, including Manet, Monet, Cézanne, van Gogh, and Renoir, share space with the fauves, Matisse, the cubists, and the expressionists in a setting once used by Orson Welles to film a nightmarish scene in The Trial, based on Kafka's unfinished novel.
    • Explore the birth place of Paris on the Two Island walking tour. A walk to enjoy the essence of Paris on the two islands. The magical Île St. Lois, with its elegant architecture and aristocratic inhabitants. You will also look at the architecture and sculptures of Notre Dame Cathedral, the history of Île de la Cité, where Paris was first founded. Explore the old streets and hear how Paris delevloped into the majestic city of today.
    • Stroll down Boulevard Saint Germain and stop at the Abbey. Walk through the magnificent Rue de Furstemberg and see the Sorbonne, the historic University of Paris.
    • Enjoy some free time at the Rue Mouffetard.
    • Have dinner in a quaint Parisian restaurant.
  • DAY 6: PARIS
    • End your discovery of art in Paris at the Pompidou Center, called "the most avant-garde building in the world", center for 20th and 21st century art. See Dalí's Hallucination partielle: Six images de Lénine sur un piano (1931), with Lenin dancing on a piano.
    • Next, see Musée Rodin, known as the father of modern sculpture, where you will be able to see the famous Gates of Hell.
    • Transfer to the Arc de Triomphe and head down the most famous avenue in the world, les Champs Élysée.
    • There you will have a farewell dinner in the city of lights.
  • DAY 7: RETURN HOME
    • After a wonderful French experience, say a fond “Au Revoir” to your Prométour Tour Director and Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
