Itinerary
- DAY 1: TRAVEL TO FRANCE
- Fly through the night to Paris.
- DAY 2: PARIS
- Welcome to Paris – your bilingual Prométour Tour Director will meet you at the airport.
- Transfer by private motor coach to your centrally located hotel for check in.
- Have some time to relax and unwind before taking a walk in the neighborhood to get the lay of the land.
- Head to Champs de Mars and embrace the beautiful views from this park.
- Next, let’s go up the Tour Eiffel, built for Paris’ 1889 Exposition Universelle: when completed, the tower, at 300m, was the tallest building in the world!
- Enjoy your first meal in France in the Quartier Latin and practice some French with your tour director.
- Overnight accommodation in Paris.
- DAY 3: PARIS
- After a late breakfast, visit Le Louvre, one of the world’s great museums, covering the finest European painting, sculpture and art objects from the Middle Ages to the beginnings of Impressionism, plus an unrivalled collection of antiquities from Egypt, the Middle East, Greece and Rome.
- Walk through the Jardin des Tuileries to the Place de la Concorde - see the Egyptian Obelisk at its center.
- Explore the Opera Quarter, home to Galleries Lafayette and the
- Place Vendome.
- Visit Le Musée Grevin, a wax museum "à la française". Walk through and see how many people you recognize!
- Later visit the Quartier Latin; See the Pantheon, the Sorbonne and the Luxembourg Garden.
- Enter the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral and then have the possibility to climb to the top of the towers for a splendid view of Paris.
- Have dinner with your group around the Quartier Latin.
- For dessert, head to Berthillon for some ice cream.
- This evening, board a glass-topped “bateau mouche” where you’ll enjoy a cruise on the River Seine and witness the illuminated city.
- Overnight accommodation in Paris.
- DAY 4: PARIS / NORMANDY / ST-MALO
- Off to Normandy! Known as the landing site for the invasion and liberation of Europe during World War II.
- Stop at the Pointe du Hoc Monument and the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer and take some time to explore the museum.
- Visit the Omaha D Day Museum.
- Head next to discover the 1000 year-old Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel.
- Take some time in the afternoon to discover the delights of this intriguing walled city.
- Transfer towards St-Malo and check-in at your hotel upon arrival.
- Enjoy dinner with tour director inside the walls of this town filled with history.
- Overnight accommodation in St-Malo.
- DAY 5: ST-MALO / ROCHEMENIER / LOIRE VALLEY
- Hop on your bus after breakfast and head to Rochemenier.
- Have a guided visit of the Troglodyte village upon arrival.
- Transfer to the spectacular Loire Valley and check-in at your hotel upon arrival. Drop off your bags & freshen up.
- Enjoy dinner with your group.
- Tonight, if weather permitting, experience a performance featuring recorded music and lights beaming on the exterior of the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau.
- Overnight accommodation in Tours.
- DAY 6: LOIRE VALLEY
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
- Visit the Château Chenonceau otherwise known as Le Château des Dames. This amazing castle built on the Cher River has to be seen to be believed.
- Transfer to Amboise. Explore this beautiful city with your group.
- Visit Le Clos Lucé, a former residence of Leonardo Da Vinci. See his inventions and marvel at his works.
- Have a tour of the Plou & Fils Vineyard near Amboise. See how wine is made and take part in a wine tasting.
- Head to Restaurant La Cave which is set in a troglodytic cave. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and friendly yet always surprising - with a shade of ancient magic!
- Overnight accommodation in Tours.
- DAY 7: LOIRE VALLEY / PARIS
- Transfer to Paris after breakfast.
- Check-in at your hotel upon arrival and take some time to unwind or wander around the neighborhood.
- Head to the Champs-Elysées for a nice stroll starting near the Grand Palais and walk towards the Arc de Triomphe. View the Tomb of the unknow soldier.
- Dinner around the area and have the rest of the evening to continue on your sightseeing journey.
- Overnight accommodation in Paris.
- DAY 8: PARIS
- Transfer to Paris after breakfast.
- Upon arrival, visit the Musée d'Orsay and its extensive collections of 19th and 20th century paintings and sculptures
- Explore Le Marais district. See Place des Vosges, Paris' oldest square still with its original buildings as well as Centre Georges Pompidou with its exposed skeleton of brightly colored tubes.
- There shall be some group activities planned by your teacher for the afternoon.
- Meet up with everybody at the hotel in the afternoon and then head to Montmartre or the "Butte", as it is known locally. Spend some time strolling around the area; have your portrait or your caricature done by a local artist.
- Climb the steps to reach the Sacré-Coeur, Montmartre’s hilltop church and most famous landmark.
- Have a farewell dinner with your tour director and then walk around to enjoy the amazing views of the city of lights.
- Overnight accommodation in Paris.
- DAY 9: RETURN HOME
- After breakfast, say “Au Revoir” to Paris and then transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
