Itinerary
- DAY 1: TRAVEL TO MILAN
- DAY 2: MILAN / FLORENCE
- Your Prométour Tour Director will greet you at the airport; he/she will remain with you throughout your tour.
- This morning, depart by private bus to Florence
- Upon arrival meet your local guide for a half-day visit of Florence. This visit will include Florence's famous Cathedral (Il Duomo), Ghiberti's famous bronze doors to the Baptistery and its interior mosaics, the open-air sculpture museum on Piazza della Signoria and Santa Croce Basilica.
- Before lunch enter the Galleria Dell’Accademia, containing Michelangelo’s monumental figure of David.
- Have some free time for lunch and shopping. Why not visit the Loggia del Mercato Nuovo? Famous for its leather goods and jewellery shops. Purchase some souvenirs or take a stroll on the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in Florence!
- Later this afternoon, visit the Galleria degli Uffizi, one of the finest art museums in the world!
- Here you will be able to follow the evolution of Italian art from its beginnings until the 17th Century.
- Dinner with your group in a quaint restaurant.
- Overnight accommodations.
- DAY 3: FLORENCE / ROME
- Have breakfast and take some leisure time to shop and explore with your chaperones.
- Free time for lunch before departing to Rome by private motor coach.
- Transfer to your centrally located hotel and settle in.
- Evening meal and overnight accommodations in Rome.
- DAY 4: ROME / VATICAN CITY
- After breakfast, meet your local guide for a tour of the Vatican City. Visit the Musei Vaticani, view Raffael’s amazing murals and then see the Tapestry Gallery.
- Continue your tour with a visit to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.
- Free time for lunch.
- Later, stroll down to the end of Via del Corso (Rome’s main street) to see Piazza del Popolo. If you have time, make sure you pop into the nearby Pincio public park for a magnificent view of Rome.
- Enjoy an evening meal with your group in a local restaurant.
- This evening, cross the Tiber River and climb up to the summit of the two thousand year old Castel Sant’Angelo.
- Overnight accommodations.
- DAY 5: ROME / ½ DAY EXCURSION TO POMPEII
- After breakfast, depart by private motor coach for Pompeii.
- Meet your local guide for a visit of this once opulent town. Buried in 79 AD in one of the most disastrous volcanic eruptions in history, you’ll be able to explore the site with your guide and learn the history behind the ruins.
- Return to Rome.
- Explore fascinating mazes of subterranean burial chambers at the Catacombs of San Callisto.
- Free time to enjoy Rome.
- For dinner try calzone at a local pizzeria
- Overnight accommodations.
- DAY 6: ROME / ATHENS
- This morning have breakfast and then head to the Colosseum (Colosseo). A breathtaking masterpiece of classical architecture where gladiatorial contests, races and mock naval battles occurred. Gladiators and beasts awaited their entrance by going through an ingenious system of ramps, a labyrinth of tunnels, and trap doors.
- Free time for lunch then board your direct flight to Athens.
- Your Prométour tour director will greet you at the airport. He/She will be staying with you throughout your stay in Greece.
- Dinner included at a typical Greek restaurant in Athens.
- Overnight accommodations.
- DAY 7: ATHENS
- Breakfast in your hotel.
- Morning sightseeing reveals the glory of Greece at the Acropolis, Parthenon, Agora and the unforgettable Archaeological Museum’s dazzling treasury of Greek art, including the Mask of Agamemnon and the mighty Poseidon.
- Free time for lunch.
- Later take a guided tour of Cape Sounion where you will see the temple of Poseidon and its magnificent view of the Aegean Sea and islands.
- Return back to your hotel and get ready for your Bouzouki night!
- Enjoy true Greek culture while dining and dancing to traditional Greek folk songs.
- Return to your hotel for night accommodations.
- DAY 8: ATHENS / FULL DAY EXCURSION TO MYCENAE
- Breakfast in your hotel.
- Full day tour to Argolis (08:15- 18:15)
- Drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal (brief stop) and then to Mycenae. Visit the remains of the ancient city, including the Lioness Gate, the Tomb of Agamemnon and the Palace. Then head to Argos on to Nauplion. After lunch visit Epidaurus and its theatre. (Famously known for its remarkable acoustics!). Return to Athens via Epidaurus/Corinth road.
- Evening meal and overnight accommodations in Athens.
- DAY 9: FULL DAY EXCURSION ON AN ISLAND CRUISE
- Transfer by motor coach from Athens to Flisvos Marina and embark on the cruise ship.
- (Departure time: 07:45)
- Sail to the island of Hydra. In Hydra, you will have the time to take a leisurely stroll, do some shopping and swimming! In the early afternoon, sail through the narrow strait separating the Peloponnesian coast from the island of Poros to the island of Aegina.
- Upon arrival in Aegina you can either join the excursion to the Temple of Aphaia or walk around the main town. Lunch is served on board.
- Sail to Poros for a short visit. Then finally re-embark and set sail back to Flisvos Marina.
- Arrival at Flisvos Marina and transfer to Athens.
- (Arrival time: 19:15)
- DAY 10 : RETURN HOME
- Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
