Itinerary
- DAY 1: TRAVEL TO FRANCE
- Fly through the night to Paris.
- DAY 2: PARIS
- Meet your Prométour Tour Director at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. He/She will remain with your group for the duration of your stay in France.
- Transfer to your centrally located Paris hotel for check-in.
- While in Paris travel as the locals do, by foot and metro!
- Get to know the neighborhood of the hotel with your Tour Director – use this time to exchange money.
- Stroll around the Trocadéro and visit its breathtaking gardens.
- Admire the view from the 3rd floor of the Eiffel Tower.
- Stroll on the Champs-Elysées, the most famous avenue in the world.
- See the Arc de Triomphe & visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
- Board a glass-topped “bateau mouche”, where you’ll enjoy a cruise on the River Seine.
- Dinner with your group in a local restaurant.
- DAY 3: PARIS
- Visit Philippe Auguste's Louvre where you’ll see masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa. With a record 8.3 million visitors annually, it is by far the most visited culture and art museum in the world.
- Walk through the Jardin des Tuileries to the Place de la Concorde. Notice the Egyptian Obelisk at its center.
- Enter the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral, a magnificent religious edifice which is one of the supreme masterpieces of French gothic architecture.
- Continue to Quartier Latin to see the Luxembourg Gardens, Le Panthéon, and the Sorbonne University. Get acquainted with the flower market and the book stalls on the Seine.
- Have dinner in a restaurant in the Latin Quarter.
- DAY 4: PARIS / ROME
- This morning visit the Musée d'Orsay which was originally a railway station. Admire its extensive collections of paintings, sculptures, architecture, and literature drawn from the 19th & 20th century
- Enter the beautiful Opera Garnier, best known as the backdrop for Gaston Leroux's famous Gothic novel, The Phantom of the Opera and all of its incarnations.
- Transfer to the airport to your flight to Rome, Italy!
- Upon arrival, Your Italian Pométour tour director will greet you and remain with your group for the duration of your stay in Italy.
- Transfer to your centrally located hotel for check-in and grab a bite to eat in the area.
- DAY 5: ANCIENT ROME
- This morning enjoy a guided tour of Ancient Rome with a professional local tour guide.
- Circle round the Arch of Constantine towards the ruins of the Roman Forum (Foro Romano), the area around which ancient Rome developed.
- See the Colosseum, originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre. It originally was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles.
- Visit the Roman Forum (Foro Romano), the central area around which ancient Rome developed.
- Enjoy Dinner with your group in Ancient Rome.
- DAY 6: ROME / VATICAN CITY
- This morning, discover Vatican City with local professional guide, Rome's state-within-a-city.
- Begin with St-Peter's Square and enter the immense and grand St-Peter's Basilica; in and around the square are Swiss guards, young Roman Catholic citizens of Switzerland wearing Renaissance-style uniforms.
- Visit the Vatican Museum including the Stanza di Raffaello (Raphael Rooms) & Tapestry Gallery.
- End your visit with the Sistine Chapel and its vaulted ceiling painted by Michelangelo; look for the self portrait he hid in the mural of the Final Judgment.
- The rest of the afternoon is your opportunity to walk around at your own pace.
- This evening, admire the beautifully illuminated monuments on the way to your dinner in Trastevere, the picturesque old quarter of Rome.
- After dinner, climb the Spanish steps and see the view over Rome in Villa Borgehese.
- DAY 7: FULL DAY EXCURSION TO POMPEI
- After breakfast, depart to Pompeii, which was completely destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
- Follow your local guide through the remains of Pompeii. See the Temple of Apollo, Bath Houses amongst the many sights.
- Return to Rome in the afternoon.
- With your Prométour Tour Director, see the most inspiring sights of the Etemal City, among which are the Campo de Fiori, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Piazza Venezia.
- Assure your return to Rome by tossing in a coin in the Fountain of Trevi.
- Have dinner with your group in a quaint restaurant.
- DAY 8: ROME / ATHENS
- This morning board your flight to Athens, Greece!
- You will once again be greeted by your guide upon arrival at the airport.
- Transfer to your hotel and freshen up.
- This afternoon see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Royal Palace, Panathenian Olympic Stadium, Temple of Zeus, and lots more including Olympic installations from the 2004 games.
- Tonight, we propose a dinner with a floorshow at a typical Greek Taverna.
- DAY 9: ATHENS
- Today visit the amazing Acropolis, Parthenon, Erechtleum and Acropolis Museum.
- Later continue to visit the Theater of Dionysos & Odeion. Built in the 4th century this theater seated 17 000 people with its limestone seats.
- Next visit the National Archaeological Museum. Considered one of the top 10 museums in the world, it has a stunning collection of Greek antiquities.
- Enjoy dinner with your group in a local restaurant.
- DAY 10: ATHENS – 3 ISLAND CRUISE
- After breakfast either have a free day in Athens OR
- Embark on a one day 3 island cruise. Don’t miss the beautiful fifth century BC Temple of Afaia and pistachio orchards in Aegina, the grand eighteenth century mansions surrounding the harbour of Hydra and the picturesque back streets of Póros.
- Farewell dinner in a local restaurant.
- DAY 11: RETURN HOME
- Transfer to the airport and board your flight to return back home.
