Itinerary

  • Day 1 : DEPART FOR FRANCE
    • Fly through the night to Paris, France.
  • Day 2 : PARIS
    • Meet your Prométour Tour Director at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
    • Transfer to your centrally located Paris hotel for check-in.
    • While in Paris travel as the locals do, by foot and metro! Get to know the neighborhood of the hotel with your Tour Director; use this time to exchange money.
    • See the Arc de Triomphe & visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
    • Stroll on the Champs-Elysées.
    • See the Sacré-Coeur Basilica located at the summit of the butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city.
    • Have dinner with your group in the area.
  • Day 3 : DAY TRIP TO GIVERNY / LOIRE
    • After an early breakfast, board your bus and head to the city of Giverny best known as the location of Claude Monet's garden and home. (Suggested for travel dates after mid April)
    • Visit the famous impressionist artist’s home where he lived from 1883 until his death in 1926. His garden is the inspiration for some of his most famous paintings, such as his water lily and Japanese bridge paintings.
    • Next head south towards the Loire region to visit its biggest castle.
    • Upon arrival, explore the splendid and imposing Château de Chambord known for its 440 rooms, 365 fireplaces, and 84 staircases. It is suggested that Leonardo da Vinci was responsible for the original design.
    • Return to Paris in the evening.
    • Dinner with your group.
  • Day 4 : PARIS
    • Visit Philippe Auguste's Louvre where you’ll see masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa. With a record 8.3 million visitors annually, it is by far the most visited art museums in the world.
    • Walk through the Jardin des Tuileries to the Place de la Concorde. Notice the Egyptian Obelisk at its center.
    • Explore the Opera Quarter, home to Galleries Lafayette and the Place Vendome.
    • Enter the beautiful Opera Garnier best known as the backdrop for Gaston Leroux's famous Gothic novel, The Phantom of the Opera and all of its incarnations.
    • Have dinner at a restaurant in the area.
  • Day 5 : PARIS
    • Have dinner with your Prométour Tour Director.
    • This morning, visit Hotel National des Invalides, a hospital for Napoleon’s Army, an Army Museum and the resting-place of the Emperor.
    • Enter the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral, a magnificent religious edifice which is one of the supreme masterpieces of French gothic architecture.
    • Climb up the bell towers to enjoy the great view.
    • Visit Sainte Chapelle, and its outstanding stained glass windows.
    • On to the Quartier Latin to see the Luxembourg Gardens Le Panthéon, and the Sorbonne University. Get acquainted with the flower market and the book stalls on the Seine.
    • Enjoy dinner in a local restaurant.
  • Day 6 : PARIS
    • Explore Le Marais district. See Place des Vosges, Paris' oldest square still with its original buildings as well as Centre Georges Pompidou with its exposed skeleton of brightly coloured tubes.
    • Visit the Musée d'Orsay which was originally a railway station. Admire its extensive collections of paintings, sculptures, architecture, and literature drawn from the 19th and 20th century.
    • Later, stroll about the Trocadéro. Visit its breathtaking gardens.
    • Admire the view from the 3rd floor of the Eiffel Tower.
    • Farewell dinner with your Prométour Tour Director.
    • This evening, board a glass-topped bateau mouche, where you’ll enjoy a cruise on the River Seine. Hopefully you’ll get to witness the illuminated Eiffel tower.
  • Day 7 : RETURN HOME FROM FRANCE
    • Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director
    • Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
