Itinerary
- Day 1 : DEPART FOR FRANCE
- Fly through the night to Paris, France.
- Day 2 : PARIS
- Your Prométour Tour Director will greet you at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
- On the way into the city see some of the main sites of Paris on a guided tour of the city by coach.
- Make your way to your hotel and check-in at your hotel. Freshen up and meet with your Tour Director to head out for an orientation tour of Ile de la Cité & Ile St. Louis.
- Enter the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathédral.
- Then make your way over to the Sainte Chappelle to see the impressive stain glass work.
- Have dinner in a local restaurant and then stroll the Champs-Elysées.
- Climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe to see the view & visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
- Day 3 : PARIS
- Have breakfast with your Prométour Tour Director.
- After breakfast, enjoy a self-guided visit of the Louvre. Be sure to find the Mona Lisa.
- Then head out to walk through Le Jardin des Tuileries.
- Eat your lunch in the gardens before walking to the Place de la Concorde. Here you will see the famous Egyptian Obelisk.
- Take some time to study the inscriptions and learn how it was put in place.
- Have a pleasant walk through Place du Trocadéro.
- Discover La Ville Lumière from the third and highest floor of the Eiffel Tower.
- Have dinner in Montmartre and spend your evening on “La Butte”.
- Day 4 : PARIS / SAINT-FARGEAU / LOIRE
- Have breakfast with your Prométour Tour Director.
- After breakfast, depart from Paris to the Saint-Fargeau Castle.
- Visit the medieval castle's building site; learn about the same techniques used by the Masons in the Middle-Ages.
- Continue your journey to Loches where you will experience an authentic medieval feast with dances and songs performed by live “Troubadours” at the “Auberge le Vicariat”.
- Overnight in Loches.
- Day 5 : THE LOIRE VALLEY
- Have breakfast with your Prométour Tour Director.
- Did you know that Leonardo Da Vinci spent some time in the Loire? Visit the Clos Lucé and learn about this Master’s brilliant inventions and machines.
- Visit the Château Chenonceau, one of the Loire’s world-famous renaissance castles. Learn about the architecture and history of the castle.
- Next, stop in Angers. Visit the home of the Dukes of Anjou and see the Apocalypse Tapestry.
- End the day in Nantes for dinner and night accommodation.
- Day 6 : NANTES / ST. MALO
- Have breakfast with your Prométour Tour Director.
- Before leaving Nantes, enter the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany.
- Depart for the 1 000 year-old abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel near St-Malo. Marvel at one of the eight wonders of the world.
- Be sure to stop at a biscuiterie and purchase some of the famous cookies of Mont-Saint-Michel.
- Drive to St. Malo for dinner and night accommodation.
- DAY 7 : ST. MALO / NORMANDY / D-DAY
- Have breakfast with your Prométour Tour Director.
- After Breakfast, take a walk through this charming port town of St. Malo.
- See the ancient remnants of Celtic, Roman, Frankish and Viking invasions, along the Normandy coast.
- Step on the famous D-Day beaches.
- Stop at the American Cemetery at Colleville sur Mer. Here, you will see over 9,000 white crosses perfectly aligned, overlooking the beaches where the American Allies landed.
- (Can be exchanged for the Canadian cemetery and Beaches)
- Dinner and night accommodation in Caen.
- DAY 8 : CAEN / PARIS
- Have breakfast with your Prométour Tour Director.
- After breakfast, visit the Memorial of Caen.
- William I the Conqueror and his wife Matilda founded two monastic communities in Caen, the Abbaye-aux-Hommes and the Abbaye-aux-Dames. Take some time to visit both.
- Board your bus towards Paris for some last minute shopping, dinner and night accommodation.
- Day 9 : RETURN HOME FROM PARIS
- Breakfast at the hotel with your Prométour Tour Director
- Transfer to the airport and board your flight home
